This tool integrates course enrollment, faculty (workload and compensation), major enrollment and retention, tuition and fee income, and department expenses to produce the operating margin (Net Income/Total Income) and ROI (Net Income/Total Expense). A program level dashboard provides a one page summary of fiscal health, enrollment and retention, department level faculty workload, classroom efficiency, and data for a hiring rubric. The hiring rubric can help chairs, deans and provost prioritize assigning faculty positions across the institution.
This tool integrates expected workload distribution (% Teaching, % Research/Scholarship/Creative Activity, and % Service) with actual direct and indirect teaching hours. The tool compares expected work week hours (over the length of the contract) with actual work hours in total and for Teaching, Research, and Service. It will adjust for other duty assignments, experiential learning, and grants
